The Cincinnati Bengals and quarterback Joe Burrow are advancing to Super Bowl LVI after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 27-24, and social media went crazy.
The Bengals held the NFL’s worst record just two seasons ago before drafting Burrow No. 1 overall in 2020. Burrow became the first player in NFL history to advance to the Super Bowl within two years of being drafted No. 1 overall.
Joe Burrow inherited a 2-14 team, tore his ACL in the middle of his rookie season, and in his sophomore season he has the Cincinnati Bengals in an AFC Championship Game.

Cincinnati overcame a 21-3 deficit and held Kansas City to just three points in the second half.
The Bengals also took a lot of heat when the 4-11-1 team drafted kicker Evan McPherson in the fifth round of the 2021 draft, as historically drafting a kicker instead of signing them in free agency has not gone well.
But he has silenced all doubters.
McPherson has now hit the game-winning, walk-off kick against both the Tennessee Titans as well as the Chiefs.
AND ONCE AGAIN…THAT'S WHY YOU DRAFT A KICKER!

Bengals K Evan McPherson this season:
– 12 FG made from 50+ yards (most by any kicker in a single season ever)
– 3 game-winning FG in OT/as time expired in the regular season (Weeks 1, 4, 17)
– 2 game-winning FG in OT/as time expired in the playoffsMoney Mac.

The formal No. 1 overall pick will await the victor of the NFC Championship game between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams. Cincinnati was last in the Super Bowl in 1988 where they coincidentally played the 49ers.
