Phoenix Suns guard Landry Shamet has been listed as questionable for Sunday’s Game 1 vs. the New Orleans Pelicans due to a left foot sprain.

Shamet did not practice on Friday because of the ailment.

The severity of the injury and Shamet’s status for Sunday’s Game 1 of the Western Conference quarterfinals is currently unknown.

“We’ve dealt with certain parts of the season that just come up, injuries are a part of it,” head coach Monty Williams told reporters on Friday.

“We’re built for situations like this and that’s why the player development program is so important,” he added. “We’ll just — not move forward because that sounds kind of weird — we’ll just have to deal with stuff as it pops up.”

Shamet missed nine games earlier this year due to a right ankle injury from Feb. 1-16. He started 14 of his 69 regular-season appearances during his first season in the Valley.

The guard averaged 8.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists on 20.8 minutes per contest after being acquired from the Brooklyn Nets via trade in the offseason.

The Suns host the Pelicans in Game 1 of the Western Conference quarterfinals on Sunday at 6 p.m. on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
