After coming away from an NBA Finals empty handed last year, the Phoenix Suns won’t be content with their season with anything less this time around. There’s a mission to accomplish.

The same goes for Phoenix fans.

A dominant ending in a Game 2 win over the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference semifinals on Wednesday night made that more than evident to Suns guard Devin Booker.

“I liked the fourth quarter today, definitely got louder than I’d say the previous game,” Booker told reporters after the 129-109 victory. “They’re bringing it, man.”

“The energy is in the house, the energy is around the city. I think everyone is on this revenge tour with us and it’s fun to be a part of it.”

Trailing after two quarters of action, the Suns turned things up to another level, outscoring the Mavericks 31-23 in the third quarter before hitting Dallas with a knockout punch in the form of a 40-26 advantage in the fourth.

Booker rattled off 12 third-quarter points before back-to-back-to-back three pointers in the fourth around the five-minute mark marked a flurry of daggers to Dallas’ chances at a comeback.

The trio of treys undoubtedly had Footprint Center jumping.

Booker finished with a team high 30 points to go along with four assists and four rebounds.

“I loved it, I kept watching,” point guard Chris Paul said of Booker’s fourth quarter. “I done played with a lot of great shooters in my career but nobody like that.

“I’m the guy that when he shoots it I think it’s going in every time. I’ll be pissed when he miss.”

It wasn’t just Booker getting the crowd into it, either, Paul scored 14 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter to slam the door shut on the Mavericks.

Paul added eight assists, six rebounds and a steal in the win.

The Suns are back in action Friday night at 6:30 p.m. for Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Mavericks in Dallas. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
