The Arizona Cardinals will open the 2022 season at home against the Kansas City Chiefs, the team announced Thursday afternoon.
The game will take place on Sunday, Sept. 11, at 1:25 p.m. from State Farm Stadium.
The Cardinals will then head to Allegiant Stadium the following Sunday to take on Las Vegas in Week 2, the Raiders announced. That game is also set for 1:25 p.m.
Arizona has not played at home in Week 1 since 2019, quarterback Kyler Murray’s NFL debut against the Detroit Lions.
The Cardinals faced the Chiefs in the preseason last year but have not done so in the regular season since 2018, before Murray and head coach Kliff Kingsbury arrived.
Kansas City won the AFC West and reached the AFC Championship Game last season.
Arizona’s matchup with Las Vegas involves facing Cardinals all-time sacks leader Chandler Jones, who signed with the Raiders as a free agent this offseason.
The Raiders also made the playoffs last year with a 10-7 record.
The only other announced game on Arizona’s schedule is in Week 11 against the San Francisco 49ers from Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
Tickets are on sale for Week 1. The NFL is officially releasing the full 2022 schedule at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
