Here’s where the Arizona Coyotes pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft

Finishing the season with just 25 wins, the Arizona Coyotes turn their attention to a critical offseason for the future of the franchise.

With the groundwork already happening, the fun of the offseason starts on Thursday with the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

The first round begins at 4 p.m. MST time and will be broadcast on ESPN. Rounds 2-7 will run on NHL Network and ESPN+ beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday.

This draft is set to be a big one for Arizona, which owns seven selections in the draft’s top 45 picks.

After an abundance of trades last offseason, the Coyotes have set themselves up to be major players in this years draft.

They will hear their name early on draft night, holding the No. 3 overall pick.

Here’s where the Coyotes will pick in the draft and who they selected.

First round

No. 3 overall — C Logan Cooley

No. 11 overall  – C Conor Geekie via trading the 27th, 34th and 45th overall choices to the San Jose Sharks (the 27th pick was originally from the Carolina Hurricanes and in exchange from the Montreal Canadiens).

No. 29 overall – D Maveric Lamoureux via trading the No. 32 overall selection (from Colorado Avalanche) and taking on winger Zack Kassian’s contract from the Edmonton Oilers. Arizona additionally added a 2024 third-rounder and a 2025 second-round choice.

Second round

No. 36 overall (from Philadelphia Flyers) – D Artem Duda

No. 43 overall (from San Jose Sharks) – F Julian Lutz

Rest of the way

No. 67 overall, Round 3 – F Miko Matikka

No. 94 overall, Round 3 – D Jeremy Langlois

No. 131 overall, Round 5 – D Matthew Morden

No. 163 overall, Round 6 – D Maksymilian Szuber

No. 204 overall, Round 7 – F Adam Zlnka
