The deadline for Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Hollywood Brown to be activated passed on Monday afternoon without any action shortly before the team’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

In addition, the Cardinals elevated defensive lineman Michael Dogbe and tight end Maxx Williams to the active roster.

Brown was designated for return on Wednesday from his foot injury that he suffered prior to Week 7. That allowed Brown to begin practicing again with his team, and he needs to be officially activated within three weeks of the designation.

His future return couldn’t come soon enough for a 4-6 Cardinals team that can’t afford many more losses in their hopes to remain in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Brown has yet to play alongside Pro Bowl wideout DeAndre Hopkins, a dynamic duo that’s debut was paused by Hopkins’ six-game suspension prior to Brown’s injury.

With Brown as the top threat in the pass-catching rotation, he was effective, catching 43 balls for 485 yards and three touchdowns.

Dogbe has appeared in nine of the Cardinals’ 10 games and has 13 total tackles.

Williams is set to play for the first time since Week 4 to help fill the void left by an injured Zach Ertz, who is out of the year. Williams played 54 snaps across the Cardinals’ first four games but didn’t catch a pass. This followed a terrific start to the 2021 season in which Williams recorded 16 catches for 193 yards and a touchdown in five games before a season-ending knee injury.

Kick-off between the 49ers and Cardinals is set for 6:20 p.m. and you can hear it on Arizona Sports 98.7
