Grayson Allen, Damion Lee available for Suns’ opener against Clippers

Phoenix Suns reserves Grayson Allen and Damion Lee are available for their opener Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers, while fellow guard Josh Okogie is out.

Allen and Lee were listed as probable coming into gameday.

Head coach Mike Budenholzer said Phoenix would see how Allen and Lee respond to practice Tuesday before determining their availability for the road game that is the debut of the Clippers’ new Intuit Dome.

Allen is dealing with Achilles soreness, while Lee and Okogie are managing hamstring issues.

Allen averaged a career-high 13.5 points and 3.0 assists while shooting 46.1% from 3-point range and 49.9% overall last season. The 29-year-old inked a contract extension to remain with the Suns at the end of the season and will slide into a key bench role to make way for starting point guard Tyus Jones.

Lee missed all of last season with a knee injury and complications resulting from it but returns to provide another shooting option off the bench. He could fill some of the shooting needs vacated with Eric Gordon’s free agent departure.

The 32-year-old Lee played in 74 games in 2022-23, averaging 8.2 points on 44.5% 3-point accuracy.

Okogie returned to the Suns as a free agent in the offseason and will provide physical defense at guard and the wing positions.

The Suns and Clippers tip off at 7 p.m. Tune to Arizona Sports 98.7 and the app. ESPN will provide national television coverage.
