The Valley native is a three-star recruit and the third player from the 2026 class to commit to head coach Kenny Dillingham’s team. The first two were wide receiver Cooper Reid and quarterback Jake Fette. Reid was one of three players to commit to ASU over the weekend along with 2025 recruits Chance Ables and Jordan Scott (transfer from Southwest Mississippi Community College).

Thues is the No. 9 recruit from Arizona for 2026 and No. 51 safety nationally, as ranked by 247Sports. He fielded offers from Tennessee, San Diego State, Kansas, Washington State and Kansas State.

He transferred to Liberty after playing for Saguaro, where his head coach was current ASU tight ends coach Jason Mohns.

In 10 games this season for Liberty, the junior has totaled 50 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, three sacks and three interceptions, according to MaxPreps. He won the 6A state championship with Saguaro in 2023.
