One fan of the Arizona State Sun Devils is not missing an opportunity to inflict more pain on the rival Arizona now that the Wildcats’ football season, which began with high expectations, has unraveled in a hurry under first-year head coach Brent Brennan.
Considering ASU football sits at 7-2 and was picked at the bottom of the Big 12 preseason media poll, it probably feels even better.
SunDevilSource.com message board member Chucky92 shared a screenshot of an email they sent to Wildcats athletic director Desiree Reed-Francois. In it, Chucky92 voiced “strong support for Coach Brent Brennan as he continues to lead our football program.”

I believe coach Brennan is the right person to develop our team and build a culture of success. His commitment to the players, dedication to their personal and athletic development, and vision for the program align with the values we hold dear at the University.
Though results may take time, I am confident that, with continued support, Coach Brennan can make significant strides and bring lasting success to our football program. I urge you to consider the positive impact that allowing him more time and resources will have on both the team and our broader community.
Thank you for your attention and dedication to our athletics.
Not many people saw the season unfold this way.
Arizona is 3-6 but was picked fifth in the Big 12 preseason media poll with three voters predicting the Wildcats would win their new conference.
But Arizona is not the only preseason Big 12 football power that has fallen well short of expectations. The Utah Utes (4-5) were favorites to win the conference, while third-place Oklahoma State (3-7) and fourth-place Kansas (3-6) have scuffled, too.
Meanwhile, ASU isn’t the only team clearing a low bar by a mile. Big 12 leader BYU (9-0), after all, was selected to finish 13th in the conference, just three slots ahead of the Sun Devils.
Arizona State fans are living the good life right now, and it’s even sweeter their rivals have taken a quick and painful tumble.
