Kyler Murray’s interceptions continue to plague Cardinals offense vs. Seahawks

GLENDALE — Quarterback Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals offense looked like it had turned a page in a big way early on in Sunday’s 30-18 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Their opening-drive 41-yard touchdown to wide receiver Michael Wilson added more excitement (and points) to Arizona’s sideline than all of Week 12’s tilt in Seattle.
Then came the issues that have plagued Murray and Arizona across their two-game losing streak.
Picks and penalties.
Unlike Arizona’s six-play, 70-yard scoring drive, Murray and the Cardinals were anything but sharp.
The offensive line –specifically Hjalte Froholdt and Paris Johnson Jr. — again was dinged with a pair of penalties, but it was the miscues from Murray that were much more damning.
In the span of six plays, Arizona’s franchise signal caller accounted for two interceptions.
Both came on second-and-long. Both were equally as bad.

With the two early interceptions, Murray is now up to five picks across the past three games. It also marks the first time in the quarterback’s career that he’s thrown a pair of picks in consecutive games.
Before this recent turnover stretch, Murray had thrown just three interceptions in 10 games. He had been one of the best when it came to keeping the ball out of the other team’s mitts.
Recently though, that’s been far from the case.
The turnovers weren’t helping the defense by any means.
Thanks to the advantageous field position from Murray’s interceptions, the Seahawks wasted little time finding the end zone on back-to-back efforts.
