Have you seen J.J. Nelson?

Cardinals fans know about the rookie wide receiver’s speed — his 4.28 second 40-yard dash at the NFL combine was one reason the team drafted him. Fans know he might weigh 160 pounds.

But until Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, the small but speedy Nelson hadn’t produced in a regular season game. He had no catches on four targets and had a fumble as a return man.

Nelson’s first catch in an NFL regular season game came in the first quarter in Cleveland, when Carson Palmer connected with the rookie on a 38-yard pass. Most impressively, Nelson caught the ball with a defender draped over him by reeling it in with his left hand.

Nicknamed “Fire” as the sidekick to fellow speedy receiver John “Smokey” Brown, Nelson’s couldn’t have done much more to impress us with his first catch.
