The staff of ArizonaSports.com has compiled their list
of the top 25 Arizona sports stories of the year 2011.
We’ll be unveiling them over the next couple of weeks, all
leading up to the top story of 2011.

2011 was a tumultuous year for Phoenix Mercury guard Diana
Taurasi.

Late in 2010, it was learned that Taurasi had tested
positive for the stimulant modafinil while playing
professionally in Europe for the Turkish team Fenerbahce.
Her contract was voided by the team, and her status for
the 2012 Summer Olympics in London was very much up in the
air.
