“We are very pleased to add Mark Lamb as our head coach for the Tucson Roadrunners,” Coyotes general manager John Chayka said. “Mark is an experienced NHL coach who did an excellent job developing young players in Swift Current for many years. He previously worked with Dave Tippett in Dallas and we are confident that this will be a great fit for our organization.”
Previously, Lamb had been the general manager and head coach of the Swift Current Broncos (WHL). He was the longest tenured coach in the WHL and led the Broncos to the playoffs in four of his seven seasons with the club.
Lamb was an assistant coach for Tippett from 2002-through-2009. Lamb was also an assistant coach with Team Canada at the 2011 IIHF World Under-18 Championship.
In addition to the hiring of the new head coach, the Coyotes also announced that Mark Hardy will be the Roadrunners’ assistant coach.
