The Pulse: Majority of fans ‘like’ Cardinals’ first-round selection of Deone Bucannon

May 10, 2014, 4:22 AM | Updated: 4:22 am

The Arizona Cardinals elected to move seven spots back in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, and yet they were still able to get their man: safety Deone Bucannon out of Washington State.

The No. 27 overall pick led the Pac-12 in tackles and interceptions as a senior, and he apparently already has the Cardinals’ fan base pretty excited.

When polled by ArizonaSports.com Friday, readers overwhelmingly supported the pick.

Of the four choices — Like it, Love it, Hate it or Who? — 609 of the 779 polled, selected one of the first two.

The former received 404 votes (52 percent), nearly 200 ahead of the next closest response.

While Bucannon seems to have tremendous support in the Valley, 143 voters did admit that they weren’t exactly sure who he was.

Something tells us, they’ll find out soon enough.
