Barkley, Williams among final cuts for Cardinals

Quarterback Matt Barkley and running back Kerwynn Williams were among 22 players cut by the Arizona Cardinals as the team got the roster to 53 players Saturday afternoon.
Joining Barkley and Williams are center Taylor Boggs, cornerback Cariel Brooks, defensive tackle Red Bryant, wide receiver Marquis Bundy, linebacker Donald Butler, safety Chris Clemons, tackle Rob Crisp and safety Matthias Farley.
The team also waived wide receiver Brittan Golden, cornerback Trevon Hartfield, wide receiver Chris Hubert, guard Antoine McClain, cornerback Harlan Miller, tight end Ifeanyi Momah, running back Elijhaa Penny, tackle Givens Price, linebacker Shaq Riddick, wide receiver Jaxon Shipley, tight end Hakeem Valles and cornerback Ronald Zamort.
In addition to the moves, the Cardinals also let go injured linebacker Tristan Okalaugo.
Barkley, the former USC standout threw for 262 yards in the Cardinals 38-17 win over the Denver Broncos, completing 20 of 29 passes and tossed two touchdowns.
Barkley was acquired by the Cardinals in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles a year ago for a seventh round pick.
In three preseason games, Williams rushed 57 yards on 19 carries against Denver and ran for 19 yards on two carries in the Cardinals’ 19-3 loss to the San Diego Chargers.
Last season Williams totaled 142 yards on 27 carries in six games including rushing for 34 yards in the Cardinals’ 40-17 win over Philadelphia in Week 15 and ran for 44 yards in a 38-8 win over Green Bay in Week 16.
