The Pulse: Fans feel Cardinals’ John Abraham should be suspended

Arizona Cardinals linebacker John Abraham had an eventful offseason — unfortunately for the team.
Abraham was arrested on a DUI charge in Atlanta in June and was three weeks late reporting to training camp as he dealt with personal issues back in Georgia.
No punishment has been handed out just yet from the National Football league or the Cardinals. In the Sanderson Ford Poll Question on Arizonasports.com, we asked fans if Abraham should feel the wrath of the league or the team.
Fifty-seven percent of the 1,125 fans that responded feel that Abraham should be slapped with a suspension. Twenty-nine percent feel it should be a one-gamer, while 28 percent think the veteran linebacker should get a multiple-game layoff.
Interestingly, 29 percent of respondents don’t think any sort of league or team-issued penalty is warranted.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported last week that there is a chance the league may not get to addressing the Abraham situation until after the 2014 season, which would mean that if this is the 36-year-old’s final season in the league, he may avoid penalty altogether.
