Bowden: Paterno didn’t abuse power

The football world continues to mourn the loss of storied
former Penn State head coach and legend Joe Paterno and
question the character of a man whose pristine image was
forever tarnished by the fallout from the Jerry Sandusky
child abuse sex scandal.

Legendary former Florida State coach Bobby Bowden told
Arizona Sports 620’s Doug and Wolf Monday his view on
Paterno the man.

“I think of a guy that wanted to do what was
right in everything he did,” Bowden said of Paterno. “I
think of a guy that put his family first. I think of a guy
that had great morals and a guy that just contributed as
much to his university as anybody has ever contributed to
a university — even giving millions of dollars to the
university.”
