The list of candidates for the Arizona Cardinals' vacant head coaching position continues to grow.

The Cardinals will interview Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden Thursday for their open job, according to reports.

Gruden just completed his second season in Cincinnati -- both of which ended in playoff appearances for the Bengals. Cincinnati's offense ranked 22nd in the league in total yards in 2012 and 12th in scoring. In 2011, the Bengals offense ranked 20th in yardage and 18th in scoring.

Gruden does have head coaching experience, although not in the NFL. The 45-year-old posted an 82-54 record in nine seasons (over two stints) as the head coach of the Orlando Predators in the Arena Football League, winning league championships in 1998 and 2000.

He also served as the head coach and general manager of the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League in 2010, guiding the team to a 5-3 record and a league runner-up finish.

    Jay Gruden Interview
This is unnecessary. A guy who previously was HC of the Florida Tuskers should not be given priority over a 19 year NFL coaching veteran with the knowledge and people skills of Ray Horton. The Cardinals are making a mistake. It's time to hire Ray.

    Let's pass on Gruden
The first coaching name tied to the Cards that does nothing for me. Look at the offense this guy has put up, it's nothing to write home about. Would take Horton, Haley or McCoy over this guy.

    Bidwill being Bidwill?
I agree. Jay who? Jay Gruden? Oh. Who's that? Jon Gruden's brother? Oh! Always gna be in his brothers shadow. The last name might do him some good, but, as far as wooing anybody, shoot! I think Horton AND McCoy (not Haley) together should be Arizona's priory. If AZ could pull off getting Horton and McCoy together, it would be the ishhhh! But, Bidwill wont. But the last thing he needs to be doing is going after Gruden. He's a nobody!
