Phoenix Suns center Alex Len continues to battle injuries, as he is currently sidelined with a fractured bone in the pinky finger on his right hand.

Len was expected to show improvement throughout the 2014 summer, but missed almost all of the Las Vegas Summer League with a broken bone in the same finger. The second-year player will be re-evaluated on Oct. 15 for the injury.

The 21-year-old was taken fifth overall by the Suns in the 2013 draft, although he missed that entire offseason while recovering from surgery on both ankles.

Len’s ankle issues lingered throughout his rookie year, holding the big man to only 42 games. Len averaged 2 points per game last season, adding 2.4 rebounds and .4 blocks for Phoenix.

The Suns begin preseason play on Wednesday at the US Airways Center against Flamengo of the Brazilian national league, and their regular season opener is Oct. 29 at 7 p.m., when they host the Los Angeles Lakers, and those games can be heard on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.
