Report: Amar’e Stoudemire a possibility for the Phoenix Suns

Arizona Sports 98.7 FM’s John Gambadoro had a series of tweets on Monday afternoon that gave some input as to what the Suns might be planning to do for the rest of free agency.
Amare Stoudemire could be a possibility as a backup power forward but word out of Dallas is he strugled with reduced playing time

Stoudemire would bring a ton of nostalgia to Phoenix. His glory days during the Seven Seconds or Less era included one All-NBA First Team selection, three All-NBA Second Team selections, and five appearances in the NBA All-Star Game.
Stoudemire played a small role for the Dallas Mavericks last season after being released by the New York Knicks. He averaged 16.5 minutes and a career-low 10.8 points in 23 games in Dallas. His role would be similar on the Suns with Tyson Chandler, Alex Len and Markieff Morris already on the roster.
Smith played 70 games for the Suns in the 2013-2014 season. He averaged 3.7 points, 2.6 assists and 1.4 rebounds during his time in Phoenix. Smith was the lone point guard off the bench that season and could play the same role for the Suns next season.
