The Pulse: Playoff berth not expected for Phoenix Suns

Jul 13, 2015, 12:12 PM | Updated: 12:13 pm

It’s been a while since the Phoenix Suns appeared in a postseason game.

Roughly five years, to be exact.

The Suns have failed to reach the NBA playoffs every season since reaching the Western Conference Finals in 2010, with the five-year drought tying for the longest in franchise history.

So, it should come as little surprise that the team’s goal this offseason was to make enough moves to ensure the team is one of the top eight in the Western Conference.

Enter Tyson Chandler, as well as the reported signings of Mirza Teletovic, Ronnie Price and Sonny Weems.

Will the acquisitions be enough to get the Suns back into the playoffs? That was what we asked you in the Sanderson Ford Poll Question of the Day, and if our readers are right, then no, they won’t be.

Bummer.

A total of 1,303 votes were submitted, with the majority — 646 — going toward the team having a “near miss” like they did in 2014, when they won 48 games but were left out of the postseason.

The next-highest total of 354 votes went to the team making its return to postseason, albeit as one of the conference’s lower seeds.
