With Mike James on an official NBA deal Thursday, the Phoenix Suns had an open spot for a two-way contract and did not wait very long to act on it.

The team announced Friday they have signed wing Danuel House to a two-way deal.

House played for two years at Houston before transferring to Texas A&M for his final two seasons of college basketball. In his senior season, House averaged 15.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 40 percent from the field and 31 percent from 3-point range.

He went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft and signed with the Wizards, playing in one game on Nov. 11. He was waived on March 1.

House played seven games in the G League last year for the Delaware 87ers and was on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers this season, putting up 17.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 15 games, shooting 46 percent from the field and 35 percent from 3-point range.

With Derrick Jones Jr. waived to create room for James and Devin Booker expected to be out two to three weeks, the Suns’ only healthy wings on the roster are T.J. Warren, Josh Jackson and Troy Daniels.

House will start with the Phoenix Suns.

He will occupy the second two-way contract spot left open when the team signed James to an official NBA deal, leaving his No. 17 roster position open.
