The Northern Arizona Suns, the G League affiliate to the Phoenix Suns, acquired guard Archie Goodwin via a three-team trade, the team announced Sunday.

The Suns acquired Goodwin from the Greensboro Swarm, who in turn received Northern Arizona’s first and second round picks of the 2018 NBA G League Draft and forward Roscoe Smith from the Erie BayHawks, who received Greensboro’s first round pick.

Goodwin played three seasons with the Phoenix Suns from 2013-16, averaging 6.2 points, 2 rebounds and 1.2 assists.

He was able to eclipse the double-digit scoring mark in 39 games with the Suns, including nine games where he scored 20 or more points, and one double-double.

Since his final season with the Suns, Goodwin played for the New Orleans Pelicans, 12 games with the Brooklyn Nets and was in training camp with the Portland Trailblazers prior to the 2017 season.

In his first two seasons in the NBA, Goodwin was sent on assignment by the Suns to play with the D-League’s Bakersfield Jam. There, he led the Jam to win the NBA D-League Showcase Cup in 2015, earning Most Valuable Player honors in the same tournament.

Goodwin has appeared in seven games this season for the Swarm, averaging 17.6 points, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals.
