Former Phoenix Suns star Amar’e Stoudemire joins the BIG3 league

A decade ago, Amar’e Stoudemire was a crucial part of the Phoenix Suns’ big three. Now, the 2003 rookie of the year is joining the BIG3 league.
Stoudemire will join the Tri-State team and be coached by NBA legend Julius Erving. The six-time NBA All-Star will play alongside other former NBA players including Jermaine O’Neal and Nate Robinson.
In Phoenix, Stoudemire averaged 21.4 points over the course of eight seasons in the desert.
Stoudemire played his final NBA season two years ago for the Miami Heat. The power forward then retired in 2016 with the New York Knicks after signing a one day contract.
Afterward, Stoudemire spent his last two seasons overseas in Israel. Now, he will try and help the Tri-State team bounce back after it finished sixth with a losing record of 3-5 in the inaugural BIG3 season last year.
The first chance Suns fans can watch the former Suns power forward again will be June 22 when the new BIG3 season begins.
