Phoenix Suns to recognize 2000s teams, players in latest ‘Decade Night’

On Friday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Phoenix Suns will be hosting its latest “Decade Night” where they will honor the Suns teams from the 2000s.

This will be the fifth “Decade Night” for the Suns this season as they have already had nights honoring the teams from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.

The first 5,000 fans who show up in seven seconds or less to the game will also receive a bobblehead of Ring of Honor member Steve Nash, Phoenix’s back-to-back MVP in 2005 and 2006. Nash will not be in attendance.

The fast style of pace the Suns coined and played with a decade ago led the way to a new era in the NBA. The Suns made the most threes in that decade, 323 more three-pointers made than any team in the NBA, while scoring the most points.

Phoenix had a combined 17 NBA All-Star appearances in that 2000-2010 decade, including players like Stephon Marbury, Amar’e Stoudemire and Shawn Marion, who will be attending the game.

The former All-Stars and other alumni players will sign autographs before the game and will be recognized at the end of the first quarter.
