Big Red Wolf Report: After the Rams before the Lions

Nov 13, 2014, 4:59 PM | Updated: 5:00 pm

By virtue of Arizona’s 31-14 victory over the St. Louis Rams at University of Phoenix Stadium, the Cards are 8-1 and setting themselves up in November for a playoff run in December.

And now…a showdown looms in the NFC with the 7-2 Detroit Lions in front of the Red Sea on Sunday!

A few things will be key to winning this game:

Patrick Peterson will need to keep his play up and may travel with Calvin Johnson wherever he lines up. If this happens, the Cards need him to shut down Stafford’s go-to guy.

Drew Stanton must protect the ball. Nothing else needs to be said.

Finally, the Lions have an excellent pass rush. This defensive line is the strength of the Lions den, but Stanton is going to have a chance at exploiting the Lions’ secondary.
