Fredette puts willingness to compete on display

Jun 16, 2011, 6:14 PM | Updated: 7:21 pm

Jimmer Fredette may be the most talked about player in the NBA Draft right now.

Fredette has been praised for his shooting ability, but has been criticized due to a perceived lack of size, toughness and defensive skills.

While it remains to be seen if Fredette can pass the ball and play the point guard position, in addition to the shooting guard he played at BYU, Jimmer’s ability to shoot has piqued the interest of many teams around the NBA.

In an attempt to improve his draft stock, Fredette has been working out with several teams and even went one-on-one with Kemba Walker in a recent workout with the Jazz to prove he is able to compete at the point guard position.

“It tells me an awful lot about Jimmer Fredette,” Ron Wolfley said on Sports 620 KTAR’s Doug and Wolf. “It tells me that this is a guy who is willing to compete. It tells me a lot about him as a person.”

The Walker-Fredette workout is certainly intriguing, but these two players have completely different skill sets meaning comparing them head-to-head probably does not reveal much other than toughness, character, heart and desire.
