The Suns had some fight in them, but they didn’t show it until it was too late.

It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that Phoenix came back from a 16-point deficit.

Gerald Green and Goran Dragic sank nearly identical three-pointers to cut the lead to one point, but the Orlando Magic came up clutch at the free throw line when it counted, sinking two free throws with 1.6 seconds left in the game.

The Suns feebly attempted to get a shot up at the buzzer, but it fell woefully short, and the Magic leave town with a 93-90 win.

What did the loss look like by the numbers?

22-8-5

Goran Dragic had 22 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the loss but only put up 15 shots all night (of which he made seven).

Markieff Morris complemented Dragic’s play with 18 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists of his own.

However, where Dragic shot 50 percent from behind the arc, Morris struggled, going 0-for-4 from the 3-point line.

7-of-26

Notorious 3-point-shooter and former Suns player Channing Frye returned to the Valley with the Magic, and Phoenix may have missed his old form. The Suns made only 7-of-26 shots from behind the arc.

Yet the Magic didn’t do much from the three-point line either, hitting only 5-of-15. Frye was only 1-of-5.

22-19

The Suns turned the ball over 19 times to Orlando’s 22 in a fairly sloppy game from both sides.

0-for-6

Suns center Alex Len was shut out for the second consecutive game, not making a shot on six attempts in 16 minutes played.

Len did grab five boards, doled out an assist and blocked a shot, however.

20-9

Phoenix’s fire started up late in the fourth quarter as they went on a 20-9 run and hit eight of their final 11 shots.

2

Eric Bledsoe picked up his sixth technical foul of the season. He leads the NBA in technicals this year after only getting eight in his last four seasons combined.

Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek was also T’d up after Orlando’s Nikola Vucevic appeared to travel but was not called for it, inciting some fury from the Phoenix bench.

Non-numerical observation of the night:

Phoenix’s fans showed up, even when it seemed the Suns couldn’t come back.
