Phoenix Suns’ Deandre Ayton and Devin Booker are set to meet in the championship of the NBA 2K20 players-only tournament on Saturday night.
The matchup comes after Ayton swept Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverly 2-0 in a best-of-three semifinal series earlier on the night.
The Suns center managed to win Game 1 by a score of 75-69, with Ayton and Beverly playing as the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics, respectively.
“For real, that was a close one,” Ayton said after pulling out the Game 1 victory. “My hands are still sweating, no cap.”
Ayton came into the matchup as the only player remaining in the tournament that had not yet used the Los Angeles Lakers or Milwaukee Bucks in a game.
So when it came to which team he would run with in Game 2, the former Arizona Wildcat called his own number and team to take on Beverly, who was playing as the Denver Nuggets.
“Oh, you’re a gangster-gangster, huh,” Beverly said of Ayton picking the Suns.
Despite video-game Ayton being called for an offensive 3-second violation on the opening possession of the game, real-life Ayton managed to come through with a 74-67 victory.
“This is crazy,” Beverly said during Game 2. “The Suns look like an all-star team.”

“Is that me? That has to be me!” Ayton said of his NBA 2K20 player after a slam.
During Game 2, Ayton trash-talked Beverly on how the Suns defeated the Clippers 130-122 in the third game of the regular season back in October.
The Clippers guard defended his team by saying that Kawhi Leonard and Paul George were absent on the night.

Beverly also jokingly asked who No. 1 on the Suns was.
“Devin Booker, bro — buckets,” Ayton responded.
Ayton can now only play as the Lakers, Bucks, Utah Jazz and New Orleans Pelicans, while Booker can now only choose between the Nuggets, Lakers, Celtics and Houston Rockets in the best-of-three championship series.
Game 1 of the championship is set to tip off at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
