The Phoenix Coyotes swung a trade on Friday, acquiring
center Cal O’Reilly from the Nashville Predators in exchange
for a fourth round pick in the 2012 Entry Draft.

O’Reilly, a 25-year-old Toronto native, was originally a
5th-round pick of the Predators in 2005 (150th overall
selection). He made his NHL debut in the 2008-09 season,
scoring 3 goals and 2 assists in 11 games.

In parts of four seasons in Nashville, O’Reilly tallied 11
goals and 24 assists in 35 games.

“We are very excited to bring Cal to our organization,”
Phoenix general manager Don Maloney said. “He is a young,
highly skilled player who will help us at the center
position. We look forward to having him in our lineup very
soon.”

O’Reilly has a slight groin strain and is not expected to
play in the Coyotes’ home game Saturday night against the
Los Angeles Kings at Jobing.com Arena.
