Winnipeg fans just can’t let it go

May 14, 2012, 6:35 PM | Updated: 7:57 pm

Dear Hockey Fans of Winnipeg,

Maybe you failed to notice it through your blinding hatred
of Gary Bettman and all things Phoenix, but you have a NHL
franchise.

Yeah, I’m serious. The Atlanta Thrashers, mired by poor
management, closed up shop in Georgia and moved north of
the border to call Manitoba home.

They just completed their first season in Canada,
finishing just 8 points out of a playoff spot.

Just wanted to let you know, and ask why you can’t let it
go after some 16 years?

Yours,

Phoenix

Yes, the bitterness over losing their hockey team almost
two decades ago continues to rage in Winnipeg, and the
Coyotes’ current playoff run has only fanned the flames.

Don’t believe me?

Check out this video from the Winnipeg Sun
featuring two Jets fans torching a Coyotes jersey.

Wonder if there are any Thrasher fans incinerating Jets
jerseys in Atlanta right now?
