Ahead of its complete 82-game schedule release for 2014-15, the National Hockey League unveiled its season-opening matchups Saturday.
The Phoenix Coyotes will begin their quest to get back to postseason play Oct. 9 at Jobing.com Arena when the visiting Winnipeg Jets come to town.
Last season, the Jets had the Coyotes’ number, winning all three of their matchups — including two in the extra session.
Phoenix last hosted a home opener against Winnipeg back on Oct. 15, 2011 — a 4-1 victory. That season, the Coyotes went on to their first and only appearance in the Western Conference Finals.
