Marc Stein of ESPN reported Tuesday that two-time MVP and soon-to-be Phoenix Suns Ring of Honor member Steve Nash will begin his post-playing career with the reigning NBA Champion team, the Golden State Warriors.

Nash played for the Suns from 1996-1998 and from 2004-2012. He won a pair of MVP awards, in 2005 and 2006, while guiding the Suns to one of their best streaks as a franchise. From 2004 to 2012 he averaged 16.3 points, 10.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game, while shooting .510 from the field, .437 from 3-point range and .912 from the free throw line. He led the Suns to three Western Conference Finals appearances during that span.

An eight-time All-Star, Nash finished his career as the Suns’ all-time leader in assists, 3-point field goals made and free-throw percentage.

Nash retired at the end of the last year as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers after battling back injuries most of his career.
