If you like strikeouts, you’ve probably enjoyed watching the Arizona Diamondbacks’ pitching staff over the last week-plus.

Arizona pitchers have struck out 11 or more hitters in eight straight games, tying a Major League record held by the 2014 Cleveland Indians. They’ll try to break the record Tuesday night in Washington against the Nationals with Robbie Ray, who is second in the National League in strikeouts per nine innings (11.57), on the mound.

Here’s a quick look at the Diamondbacks’ strikeout binge, by the numbers.

104

That’s how many batters have headed back to the dugout after earning a ‘K’ in the scorebook against Arizona in the last eight games.

85

Almost 82 percent of those batters struck out swinging, while 19 of them have looked at strike three.
