Archie Bradley and a contingent of Arizona Diamondbacks players, coaches and staff will host the seventh annual D-backs Celebrity Golf Classic on Friday at Whirlwind Golf Club.

The tournament is held the Friday of Veterans Day weekend each year to raise money for military personnel. The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation has given more than $700,000 to local community partners including Soldier’s Best Friend, Central Arizona Shelter Services and USO.

Proceedings will begin with the national anthem and a welcome message from Luke Air Force Base Brigadier General Brook Leonard at 10:30 a.m. In addition, the D-backs’ foundation will hand a $25,000 check to Folds of Honor and Military Assistance Mission. The tournament will commence after a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Participants will take part in unique contests throughout the day, including a closest-to-the-pin with a golf ball launcher and a glass putting green challenge.

Current players scheduled to participate include starting pitcher Robbie Ray and relievers Jimmie Sherfy, Braden Shipley and Matt Koch. Manager Torey Lovullo and members of the coaching staff including Robby Hammock, Mike Butcher, Dave McKay and Tony Perezchica will also be on hand, along with Augie Ojeda and nine other former D-backs.

A VIP after-party featuring a dinner, silent auction and a unique presentation of awards to foursomes will take place afterward.
