ASU OT Jalen Klemm partners with foundation that helped him work back from stroke

Arizona State offensive tackle Jalen Klemm suffered a stroke shorty before the Sun Devils’ 2024 fall camp, which cost him a full season. Now, Klemm announced Sunday he is partnering with the foundation that helped his recovery.

“As May is Stroke Awareness Month, I wanted to highlight my journey — from suffering a stroke to fighting my way back and continuing to make an impact on the football field. This is just the beginning. More to come,” the ASU OT posted on Instagram.

RADical Hope Foundation, a nonprofit based in Concord, Massachusetts, aided Klemm in his time of need and has been a crisis service provider for more than 90 colleges and 29,000 people, according to its website.

The nonprofit voiced its support of Klemm’s partnership, commenting on his post, “Proud to partner with you! Setting the example of resilience and leadership.”

After returning from the scary episode in 2025, Klemm logged 176 offensive snaps as a backup on the offensive line, including some in the Sun Bowl against Duke.

The 6-foot-6, 295-pounder from Mars, Pennsylvania, may earn starting minutes this upcoming season and is set to be at least part of the offensive tackle rotation.

“That was one of the biggest things that I took from this program is understanding that things don’t happen to you, they happen for you,” Klemm said in a video. “You just have to flip your mentality to where I’m going to get stronger through this. I’m going to gain confidence.

“And then you can look back on those things and be like, ‘Man, I was able to get through that. Like, I can get through anything.'”

ASU returns to Mountain America Stadium on Sept. 5 against Morgan State.

The Sun Devils will notably play the first ever college football game in London against Kansas on Sept. 19 (Week 3) as well as opponents Texas A&M (Sept. 12) and defending Big 12 title game winner Texas Tech (Oct. 17).
