Slump? What slump?

After batting just .198 with five home runs and 13 RBI through the first 48 games of the 2018 season, Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt is back to his All-Star ways.

The first baseman has been on a tear in the month of June, and to no surprise, the team has also found its rhythm again.

And they may just be getting started.

Here is Goldy’s month of June, by the numbers:

18-for-36

In his nine games played this month, Goldschmidt is batting 18-for-36.

45

Perhaps the more incredible stat is that Goldschmidt has raised his batting average 45 points in those nine games. Now up to .254, Goldschmidt was hitting .209 entering the month.

4

Goldy became the first player in the Divisional Era with multiple extra-base hits and RBI in four straight games.

10

After just eight RBI in the month of May, Goldschmidt has 12 on June 11. He has a total of 31 on the season.

In the club’s 12-7 win over the Rockies on Saturday, Goldschmidt hit a season-high four RBI with three swings of the bat.

3

Goldschmidt had three or more hits in four straight games, a new club record. He was 13-for-18 from the plate in those four games.

2

Don’t sleep on Goldschmidt’s power coming back, either. After hitting seven total home runs in the first two months of the season, Goldschmidt hit two home runs in Friday and Saturday’s games. The two games in a row tied a franchise record.

7

On Goldschmidt’s hot streak, the D-backs have been winning. They have won seven of their nine games in the month of June and nine of their last 12 dating back to a series win over the Cincinnati Reds in the end of May.

15

The D-backs had a 29-run explosion in Colorado, outscoring the Rockies by 15 runs in the three games. They have scored more than two runs in 10 straight games after scoring two runs or less in 17 of their 27 games in May.
