D-backs call up Christian Walker, send down Jimmie Sherfy

The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled slugger Christian Walker from Triple-A Reno and sent down reliever Jimmie Sherfy on Friday.
Walker spent 17 games with Arizona this season and batted .176 with 10 strikeouts and three walks as a pinch-hitter. Among his three hits were a double and a home run.
In Reno, Walker is slashing .267/.328/.506 with 46 hits, nine doubles, a triple and 10 home runs. The first baseman has 34 RBI and 15 walks with 40 strikeouts in 44 games with the Aces.
Sherfy was called up on Tuesday but did not make an appearance in his brief MLB stint. He has pitched three games for the D-backs this season without allowing a run in 2.0 innings.
