It isn’t uncommon to see professional athletes become advocates for change in a community, especially those who become the forefront of donations to local charities.

Like some of his counterparts, Brooklyn Nets guard Allen Crabbe took it upon himself to save a California school from closing.

But it wasn’t just any school for Crabbe. His grandfather, Apostle Frederick K.C. Price, founded the school in 1968, and Crabbe was a student through high school.

According to TMZ Sports, Frederick K.C. Price III Christian School in south Los Angeles was on the verge of closing its doors due to lack of funding after it had lost the support from a local church.

“I was at that school practically my whole life,” Allen told TMZ. “I’m just happy and feel blessed to be in a position now to do this.”

Crabbe’s donation wasn’t just a small figure for the school to get by. According to TMZ sources, Crabbe presented the school with a check somewhere in the “six-figure” range.

Thanks to the generous donation, the 175 kids who attend the school will no longer worry whether or not they would have to find a new place of education.

According to TMZ, school officials are calling the donation a “miracle.”
