The Arizona Diamondbacks now have four players in MLB Pipeline’s top 100 prospects list after a midseason update on Saturday.

GM Mike Hazen’s work of reloading the farm system is now beginning to show up, especially after the 2019 MLB Draft.

There are three new D-backs players on this list, including the team’s 2019 first-round pick.

No. 59: SS Jazz Chisholm

Chisholm is the only returning member of the D-backs from this year’s preseason prospects rankings.

He is also still the team’s No. 1 prospect after the midseason update.

Chisholm, a native of the Bahamas, signed for $200,000 in 2015 and was promoted this year to the team’s Double-A affiliate Jackson Generals.

In 87 games, he is batting .199 and has a .727 OPS with 18 home runs this season.

No. 63: OF Alek Thomas

Thomas, who was drafted in the second round of the 2018 MLB Draft, is making his first appearance on the list.

He is slashing .296/.381/.466 in 87 games played with the Single-A Kane County this season.

He now ranks as the team’s second-best prospect up after moving up from the No. 7 spot.

No. 93: OF Kristian Robinson

Robinson is another prospect the D-backs signed from the Bahamas.

He is quickly becoming a recognized figure in the team’s farm system, being listed as the third-best prospect.

Robinson is hitting .322 and has a .980 OPS in 32 games played with the D-backs short-season Single-A affiliate Hillsboro Hops.

The 18-year-old currently leads the league in RBIs (34) and is second in home runs (9).

No. 99: OF Corbin Carroll

Carroll was drafted No. 16 overall in the 2019 MLB Draft.

Only 24 games into his professional career, he ranks as the D-backs’ fourth-best prospect.

In those games, he has a .286 batting average and an .890 OPS with nine stolen bases in the Arizona Rookie League.

At 5-foot-10, MLB Pipeline had Carroll’s approach at the plate as one of “the best in his class.” They also draw a comparison to Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi for his size and hitting ability.

The reshuffling of the top 100 prospects also meant a shift in Arizona’s top 30 prospects.

Most notably, pitcher Jon Duplantier fell from No. 2 to No. 6 overall in the team’s top prospects.

Five of the D-backs’ 2019 MLB Draft picks made the top-30 list, including Carroll, Brennan Malone, Drey Jameson, Tommy Henry and Dominic Fletcher.

The No. 7 overall pick in 2017 MLB Draft, Pavin Smith, who was once ranked as the team’s second-best prospect, is now 28th on the list.

The D-backs’ top 30 rankings could change in a big way in the upcoming days as the MLB trade deadline approaches and the team prepares to possibly become sellers.
