Arizona Cardinals release DL Terrell McClain, sign OL Jacob Ohnesorge

The Arizona Cardinals have officially cut ties with one of their veteran defensive linemen.
The team released defensive lineman Terrell McClain on Tuesday. The move was anticipated after ESPN’s Vaughn McClure reported it Monday.
Additionally, the Cardinals signed offensive lineman Jacob Ohnesorge, formerly of the AAF’s Arizona Hotshots and, during the 2018 preseason, the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at South Dakota State.
McClain was a new face for the Cardinals, signing a one-year deal with the team on May 22.
In three preseason games with the team this season, McClain recorded five total tackles.

The 30-year-old McClain spent 2018 as a member of the Atlanta Falcons, accumulating 17 tackles and 1.0 sack while appearing in 13 games and starting five.
McClain had his best years with the Dallas Cowboys from 2014-16, where he tallied 40 tackles with 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in his last year there.
A third-round pick by the Panthers in 2011, McClain has also spent time with Carolina (2011), the Houston Texans (2013) and the Washington Redskins (2017).
With the Texans, McClain spent time with current Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph.
The cut comes following the team’s latest signing of DL Clinton McDonald. Arizona also added defensive lineman Siupeli Anau on Monday.
