Following a 27-27 tie against the Detroit Lions, sparked by a fourth quarter rally to open the Kyler Murray-Kliff Kingsbury era, several Arizona Cardinals were deserving of game balls.

98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s Doug & Wolf took the responsibility of awarding one game ball apiece to the deserving Cardinals who stepped up in the tie.

Doug Franz, Ron Wolfley, Paul Calvisi, Erin Maloney and Cody “Bear” Fincher each chose a Cardinals player or coach who stepped up for Arizona in the tie. Here’s who they chose and what they said:

Doug – Kliff Kingsbury – NFL regular season debut as head coach – “He learned a lesson that most rookie head coaches learn in Week 7 and he figured it out at halftime that, ‘I’m getting in the way of my own players.'”

Wolf – Kyler Murray – 29-for-54, 308 yards passing, two touchdowns, one interception – “Rallied himself when he looked dead in the water.”

Paul – Jordan Hicks – 14 total tackles, two TFLs, two QB hits – “Finally we have a seek-and-destroy middle linebacker.”

Maloney – Kyler Murray – fourth quarter stats: 15-for-19, 154 yards, two touchdowns, one two-point conversion – “You can’t go anywhere else.”

Bear – Justin Murray – started at right tackle after just three practices – “I’m going to go kind of out of left field … he stepped up.”
