The Arizona Diamondbacks optioned infielder prospect Andy Young to Triple-A Reno and announced two other moves Monday.

Infielder Wyatt Mathisen was also sent to Reno, while right-hander Damien Magnifico was reassigned to minor league camp.

Young, who is ranked by MLB Pipeline as the No. 21 prospect in the D-backs’ farm system, split his 2019 season between Double-A and Triple-A after being acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals in the trade that shipped Paul Goldschmidt out of Arizona. The Diamondbacks also acquired starting pitcher Luke Weaver, catcher Carson Kelly and a 2019 competitive balance round B draft pick in that deal.

This spring, Young went .350 with four runs scored, two RBIs, a double and a home run with a walk and seven strikeouts in 20 spring at-bats.

He batted .280 with 21 home runs, 53 RBIs and 67 hits in 68 games with Reno last season. The 25-year-old slugger has yet to make his MLB debut.

Mathisen,26, hit .429 with five RBIs in nine spring training games this year.

Magnifico, 28, has appeared in four MLB games between a 2016 stint with the Milwaukee Brewers and a 2017 stint with the Los Angeles Angels. He made four appearances for the D-backs this spring and gave up seven hits and three earned runs in 4.0 innings.
