Isaiah Simmons, the Arizona Cardinals and Bose are teaming up to donate 60,000 meals to Harvest Compassion Center’s facilities in Phoenix and Chandler, the team announced Monday.

The announcement comes just days after Simmons was drafted out of Clemson in the first round by the Cardinals, but he’s already making a difference in the community along with his team and a corporate sponsor.

Harvest Compassion Center is a food and clothing donation bank that looks to provide both supplies and hope in the Phoenix area.

“I feel like this is a great opportunity to help out in Arizona, which is the new community that I’ll be a part of,” Simmons said in the release. “It was a big emphasis for me to come in and make an impact not only on the field but also off the field in the community. So being able to partner with Bose and donate these meals to people that are in need during this stressful time is something that is really important to me.”

The demand for Harvest’s services has quadrupled because of the coronavirus outbreak, a statement said. Among the supplies provided are food, hygiene products, baby products, home goods and clothing items.

Other athletes and teams have stepped up in the wake of the pandemic, as well. The Cardinals have held blood drives at University of Phoenix Stadium, as did the Diamondbacks in partnership with the American Red Cross at Chase Field.
