The Arizona Diamondbacks announced seven roster moves on Friday, including designating pitcher Junior Guerra for assignment.

Guerra, a 35-year-old with just over five seasons of MLB experience, spent just one year with the D-backs.

Arizona also designated Joel Payamps for assignment.

The team added right-handed pitcher J.B. Bukauskas, outfielder Stuart Fairchild, right-handed pitcher Luis Frias, right-handed pitcher Matt Peacock and infielder Geraldo Perdomo to the 40-man roster.

Guerra signed with the D-backs last offseason after leaving Milwaukee. He pitched in 25 games and had a 3.04 ERA in 23.2 innings.

He allowed just one hit in his first nine appearances, but had a 4.60 ERA over his final 16 games.

Payamps, 26, has spent almost all of his career in the minor leagues. He appeared in two D-backs games in both 2019 and 2020. He allowed three earned runs over seven total innings.

Bukauskas, who turned 24 in October, was acquired from the Houston Astros as part of the Zack Greinke trade. In 2018, he posted a 2.14 ERA split between five teams that ranged from the Rookie to Double-A level. In 2019, he had a 5.44 ERA.

Fairchild was part of the Archie Bradley trade. The 24-year-old hit .264 with 12 home runs and 54 RBIs in the minor league system in 2019.

Frias, 22, had a 2.83 ERA over 16 starts in 2019. He struck out 101 batters, a rate of 11.9 Ks per nine innings.

Peacock was selected by the Diamondbacks in the 23rd round of the 2017 draft. In Double-A ball in 2019, he posted a 2.97 ERA in 21 appearances, 20 of which were starts.

Perdomo is ranked the No. 3 player in Arizona’s minor league system by MLB.com and is a top-100 prospect. In 2019, the shortstop hit .275 with three home runs and 26 stolen bases. The 21-year-old was signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2016.
