After every Arizona Diamondbacks game we’ll examine the
box score and
provide you with instant analysis. So it’s time to go
Inside the Box for
August 30, 2011: Diamondbacks 9, Rockies 4

The Good:

Gerardo Parra had a fantastic game going 4-5 with two RBI’s and three runs scored.

Miguel Montero belted a huge three-run home run in the fifth inning that gave Arizona a sizable lead.

Justin Upton crushed his 26th home run on the season in the eighth inning and also made a spectacular leaping catch going into the stands.

Upton and Montero each had three RBI’s in the game.

In addition, Sean Burroughs, Collin Cowgill and Aaron Hill all had multi-hit games.

Lost in the shuffle was rookie starter Wade Miley who tossed another good game for the D-backs.

The rookie lasted six innings only giving up two runs.

The Bad:

The bullpen struggled a little bit as David Hernandez and Micah Owings each gave up runs in relief of Miley.

Lyle Overbay was the only position player in the starting line-up not to get a hit.

Considering Arizona scored nine runs, this might be greedy, but the D-backs left 10 runners on base and were only 3-12 with runners in scoring position.
