The Diamondbacks keep collecting post-season hardware.

Gerardo Parra won a Gold Glove Tuesday night,
and Wednesday both Justin Upton and Daniel Hudson
collected Silver Slugger awards, which are given to the
best hitter at each position on the field.

It’s the first time either has won the award, and both
were deserving.

Upton, who led the Diamondbacks in home runs, hit .289
with 31 long balls, 88 RBI, 39 doubles and five triples.
He also scored 105 runs and tallied 313 total bases.

Hudson, in his first full season in the National League,
hit .277 with one home run, 14 RBI, three doubles and five
runs scored. Among pitchers with at least 50 plate
appearances he ranked first in average, hits, total bases,
RBI, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and OPS.

“I am very excited about receiving the Silver Slugger
Award and honored to be recognized along with all of the
other winners this season,” Hudson said in a press
release. “There are so many great pitchers who excel at
the plate so it’s flattering to have my name mentioned in
the same sentence. I take great pride in my contributions
as a hitter and being able to impact games both on the
mound and at the plate. Finally, I would like to thank my
manager, coaches, teammates and others who’ve helped me
along the way.”

Upton and Hudson join Luis Gonzalez and Micah Owings as D-
backs Silver Slugger award winners, as Gonzalez won in
2001 and Owings in 2007.
