ESPN MLB insider: Kevin Youkilis may not be worth risk

The Arizona Diamondbacks are certainly struggling and if the team hopes to get back into the playoff race they’ll likely need to add another bat to bolster their lineup.
One name that’s been rumored to be available is Boston Red Sox third baseman Kevin Youkilis. The veteran slugger could offer value to the D-backs at a position they’ve been unable to solidify, if he can stay healthy.
MLB Insider Keith Law told Arizona Sports 620’s Doug and Wolf Friday he questions Youkilis’ ability to maintain an elite level of play given the decrease in production he’s suffered in recent years.
“How much are you going to give up for a player [Youkilis’] age, his body type, who’s really started to break down,” Law asked.
