Diamondbacks to host second annual Star Wars Night Saturday

Jun 5, 2012, 9:12 PM | Updated: 10:18 pm

The Arizona Diamondbacks will welcome the Oakland A’s to
Chase Field Saturday with Trevor Cahill on the mound and
Star Wars fans in the stands.

Yep.

The D-backs are teaming up with Lucasfilm Ltd. to host the
2nd annual Star Wars Night, where fans are encouraged
to dress up as their favorite characters.

Unless, of course, your favorite character is Jar Jar Binks.
No one wants that.

At any rate, the team is offering special Star Wars
ticket packages, which start at $30 and include a themed T-
shirt as
well as pre-game recognition for fans in costumes.

As part of the promotion, $2 from every Star Wars
ticket package will benefit Stand Up to Cancer, which is a
movement created to raise funds to accelerate groundbreaking
cancer research.
