The Arizona Diamondbacks have concluded two series to begin the 2021 season and now return to Chase Field on Friday to host the Cincinnati Reds for their home opener.

The game will broadcast on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station and air on TV for Bally Sports Arizona, but for those 20,000-some fans in attendance — tickets are still available as of Friday morning — here’s what you need to know as the D-backs throw out the first pitch at 6:40 p.m.

Gates open at 5 p.m.: The first 5,000 fans at Chase Field will receive clear tote bags as they enter the stadium starting at 5 p.m. This year’s clear bog policy can be viewed at dbacks.com/clear.

Tribute to frontline workers: Pregame festivities will include a tip of the cap to doctors, nurses and staffers from Banner Heath, Dignity Health, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Steward Health Care and AMR.

First pitch: Throwing out the first pitch will be Arizona Department of Health Services director Dr. Cara Christ.

Moment of silence: The Diamondbacks will hold a moment of silence for former vice president of player development Mike Bell, who died in March after a battle with cancer.

National anthem: Retired United States Navy petty officer first class Steve Powell will sing the “Star-Spangled Banner,” and four F-16 fighters from the 310th Fight Squadron from Luke Air Force Base will fly over Chase Field during the anthem.
